Well it is only a few days till the big Labor Day Biker party The 9th annual party is going to be a big one. This is my first time to visit but from all my friend at Biker or Not tell me it will be a wild time. There are several going from this area. Mike Gwin and Benji are riding down. I am driving Mike’s truck and pulling the toy hauler. Randall and Lindsey, Thomas and Becky and hopefully Elaine. Spot may come down Friday night but most of us are going Friday morning.

I will have photos and a follow up article next week. In the mean time keep the sunny side up and the rubber side down. Who knows maybe we will meet somewhere

Only in Louisiana

Louisiana has been known for it’s politics and political characters since the days of Huey P. Long till Edwin Edwards. But I don’t think anything has prepared our residents for the race between David Vitter and possible candidate Stormy Daniels_MG_7527Stormy is an ex porn star and has re established her residence in La. for a possible congressional run.

When we had our 4th of July party she, her entourage and all the media showed up to jump through hoops for her. Now not one word was said about her past but Vitter’s indiscretions are being trashed in the media.

She did her interviews_MG_7533made a small speech_MG_7551Looked good for the camera. Then she posed with a few of my friends_MG_7554_MG_7557_MG_7558I don’t know about you but to me it takes more than a pretty face, a large chest and the ability to have sex on camera to warrant my vote for congress

Just shows what our society has come to

Steel Bridge bar

Posted in Biker stuff on August 16, 2009 by bayouphoto

Up in this very rural delta corner Of Louisiana there are not many places for bikers to hang out. A new, well re modeled, one is the Steel Bridge bar in Monticello, La.

My friends Jeff and Kim run the place, live bands, good food and cold beer. it also doen’t hurt that the bar tenders are cute and hot_MG_7897Bikes are very welcome at the Steel Bridge_MG_7895_MG_7898_MG_7900The place really rocks on the weekends and it gets rowdy. Jeff wanted ne to show the new bar furnishings

_MG_7902Not bad for a little country bar. So if you are cruising through NE La. on I 20, Hwy 17, Hwy 65 and get anywhere near Monticello, just north of Delhi, come for a visit and sit a spell. On I 20 take the Waverly exit and head north on 577 and follow the signs. If you are on Hwy 17 turn east at the light in Epps and go till you see the steel bridge on the Bayou Macon river, cross it and look straight ahead

MayDaze crawfish boil ’09

What started as a simple birthday party has grown into major
event for the small rural town of Crowville in the northeast delta
area of Louisiana.
On may 6th bikes from around the region poured in to celebrate,
help raise money, ride the poker run and eat some crawfish. This
is the 5th year that hosts Terry and Becky Simmons have put it on.
And the second where it was a benefit for the Patriot Guard Riders.
The Patriot Guard Riders are a national non-profit organization of
bikers who show support for the armed forces of this great country.
The day started at 10am with over 30 bikes registering for the
poker run and ended that night with The Damon King band. In
between was the 100 mile ride, 1400 pounds of crawfish and DJ
Charlie Smart.
This years event netted $4,300 dollars with 2,000 going to the
Patriot Guard Riders and $2,300 helping to establish the Michael
Bares memorial scholarship fund. Mike was a PGR that was killed
in an accident while attending service mans funeral.
The most moving moment occurred when Terry introduced the
mother, brother and sister of Mike.
Be sure and mark your calendar for next May and make plans to
come have some fun, enjoy the music and crawfish and help out
a worthy cause.

Back in May a good friend, Danny Shaddix, and I got to talking about a doing a benefit bikini bike wash. Since I had access to lots of bikini girls they asked if I would line up the girls. I agreed then offered to also set up a photo booth and donate the net proceeds to the benefit.

The Northeast Louisiana chapter of ABATE were the sponsors_MG_7682The big Top restuarant and lounge donated the use of their parking lot_MG_7686The benefit was to raise money for Shelby’s wish foundation.
