HDR: Crockett Point lake

This lake was formed when the Corps of Engineers, straightened some curves, on the Bayou Macon river. I usually drive around it looking for wading birds. This day all I found was this lovely reflection.

I took the camera, down to the water’s edge and captured the 3 exposures for this image. +/- 2 stops. Combined in Photomatix Pro.

Locally these three lakes are called ” Cutoffs” because they were cut off from the main channel. When I was younger I remember the Bayou Macon as a beautiful flowing, winding river. The Corps, in its infinite wisdom made it a muddy ditch. The three lakes are Bakers, Crockett Point and Hwy 4 cutoffs.
