Here today, gone tomorrow

Life is never constant, there is change all around us. If you see a photo opportunity you better take it right then, you never know how long it will last. Case in point. Across the road from my house is an old abandoned house. It hasn’t been lived in in at least 10 years. Never really thought much about it till one day I was sitting in my bird blind and saw this gorgeous late afternoon sun on it. The leaves have hung on the trees till way into December, that and the pink color caught my eye.

I used Nike filters Tonal contrast and a little Topaz Adjust 4. Then just a few days later this was the scene.

This is a five exposure HDR processed in Photomatix Pro 4 and Tonal contrast.

I wondered at the story of this old house. The memories that it contained. Lives born and died, good times and bad. Children laughing and playing in the yard. The countless meals cooked and eaten there. Now it is gone forever, nothing ever stays the same. Just as 2010 is gone and 2011 awaits to be written. This house is gone and a new chapter awaits the land.
