Photo Friday: Crimson in clover

Yes, I am old enough to remember the title song by Tommy James and the Shondells, however this is a photo blog and not a music one.

I saw this field, midday, and knew I had to be back as the sun went down. The highway road ditch is quite deep so when I set my tripod in it I gained this low perspective. Using a wide angle lens made the field seem larger. I used a 2 stop graduated Cokin filter and shot one exposure.

After importing into Lightroom I made my basic adjustments and I increased the warmth.Sending it to Nik filters Color Efex Pro 3 for tonal contrast and glamour glow I achieved this almost Orton effect. I have received many favorable comments and some asking if it was HDR.
