Photo of the week: I see fields of green and skies of blue

I took this photo behind the Mount Locust Inn on the Natchez Trace. It is my favorite of the day. I spent an entire day exploring the trace between Natchez and Port Gibson and made it a point to shoot only with the Canon G2

Photo of the week: Orange on blue

I love the orange against the blue sky in this weeks photo. It was taken on the North Carolina side of the Cherohala Skyway. Nice gorgeous Sunday afternoon. I used a polarizer filter to make the colors pop.

The trees were just spectacular. It was hard to make any driving time because of all the stops for photo ops. I have never been any place so photogenic, every road, curve or mountain was worthy of stopping.

Photo of the week: English chapel

I think that this photo is appropriate for Sunday. This is English Chapel located in the Davidson river recreation area in the Pisgah national forest. Just outside of Brevard, NC on Hwy 276.

I shot this late one afternoon when we returned from shooting Dupont state forest. It is such a beautiful setting inside one of the most beautiful campgrounds, we stayed in.

Photo of the week: Reflection

Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you get semi lucky. I have attempted for several years to catch the waters of Bayou DeSiard calm and a fall reflection. yesterday I came around DeSiard street in east Monroe and saw the water was extremely calm. You can’t pull over and stop in the curve so I rounded it and to the public access. It was dead calm, except for one small band of rippled water.

I waited and took several more photos, however the moment was gone. So I got semi lucky LOL

The East fork road runs alongside the French broad river. Take Hwy 176 south between Rosman and Brevard, NC then turn left on East Fork road. It comes out on Hwy 276 and you vam go left back to Brevard or right and go to the Dupont State forest by turning left on the cascade lake road.
